I stopped sharing my plans with my friends and family.

Hi, it’s just me. I started to write on this platform because I am bored. Having a platform to express yourself is so convenient nowadays. I am from the Philippines, and at the age of 26, I decided to leave my comfort zone and test out my destiny in another place.

Now, at 33, looking back, it was the best decision I have ever made in my life. My life changed in a way I did not expect. I have met a lot of different people, and I have learned a lot of things. One thing that I am proud to say is that I did not open up about those plans with my friends and family; at that time, they just knew that I was trying to improve myself. I have read somewhere online that if you stopped sharing your plans with others, it would be so different and magical. Which, in my experience, was true; it was hard because you do not have a support system that you could tap into when things go downhill.

I remember it clearly that being alone gives you a lot of realization in life. It made me strong and independent. I was able to know myself more, the skills that I need to learn, and those skills that I already have. I read a lot of books and watched a lot of self-help gurus on YouTube. I did that and collected it all into my skills bank.

The power of silence is extraordinary; sometimes it tempted me to share my next moves, but thankfully, I controlled myself.
